Swansea Council is committed to safeguarding the welfare of those accessing our services through the effective use of the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
Our Disclosure and Barring Team, based in the Guildhall ensure that appropriate checks are undertaken and maintained in accordance with the Council's policies and procedures.
Swansea Council is working in partnership with Powys County Council to enable staff to complete DBS applications online, via an intelligent, fast and efficient application service.
The Service
The Fully Managed Service offers:
- Intelligent form with automatic validation of information input
- Applicants can complete their forms anywhere using a web-enabled PC, Laptop or iPhone
- Applicants are set up and provided with secure log on details and instructions for completion of the form via email
- Online submission of the form to the DBS
- Email notification of disclosure results/information to Managers FAQ section
- Automatic email reminders for non completion of form to applicants
- Automatic email reminders for validation and completion of ID section of form by Verification Officers
Once completed, the forms are sent securely via a direct link to the DBS team. The system provides faster DBS disclosure returns, safe and secure data handling and storage and a fully managed and maintained system.
